1.Single vision lens

It means there are one optical focal point on entire lens, It’s only used to see things up close or far away.

It is typically used for teenagers with myopia, or adults with myopia/hyperopia/astigmatism, as well as those who only need near vision or only need far vision.

2. Bifocal Lenses

Bifocal lenses have two optical focal points, one for near vision and one for far vision, allowing for  near and far vision with a pair of lens.

The circular area below the lens is for close-up vision, such as reading or working. The area above the circle is for distance vision, such as driving.

Based on appearance, bifocal lenses can be divided into three types: flat-top bifocal lenses, round top bifocal lenses, and invisible round top bifocal lenses.

Flat top bifocal lens its surface is a semicircle. The top edge is a straight line.

Round top bifocal lenses have a complete circular shape, and its boundary is clear.

The invisible round top bifocal lens has indistinct boundaries, making it more Stylish and beautiful.

Below are images of the three types for your reference. From the images, we can clearly see the differences between them:

This type of lens is suitable for people with presbyopia who need to switch between near and far vision, but its mid-range support is weak. Its power range is: SPH: +300~-200 ADD: +100~+300

It should be noted that bifocal lenses are usually available in 70mm and 65mm sizes, with a significant price difference. Therefore, you need to determine the appropriate size before purchasing.

3. Progressive Lenses

Also known as Multifocal Lenses, these lenses combine the required power for far, intermediate, and near vision into a single lens, allowing users to meet their vision needs at all three distances with a single pair of lenses. The transition is natural and easy to adapt to.

Their power range is: SPH: +300~-200 ADD: +100~+300

Progressive lenses come in three types based on corridor: 9+4, 12+2, and 12+4.
