With the continues growing up of lens market. This is a common question among many new importers. Why sometimes lens factory take 40 or even 50 days to finish an order production?
And sometimes take 5-7 days to finish production? By this chance, As a representative of one of the China lens factory, I would like to introduce you in details:
1.mould quantity
The first of all, it’s depending on the mould quantity of factory. For each prescription, it need 2 moulds, one front side and another one back side.
For example: If the lens factory have 10,000 sets of 1.56 lens mould, 1000 sets of 1.61 lens mould, then the production time for 10,000 pairs 1.61 lens is much more longer compare to 1.56 lenses.
2.ready stock support
Secondly, some lens factories have theirs own stock, because of theirs great selling turnover, usually they have mature selling network including China domestic and global market team.
Like our trust Industrial, we have the 1.56 ASP LENS, 1.61 ASP LENS, 1.67 ASP LENS in stock, each item is about 150,000 pairs.(Including blue cut / Photogrey mixed), It means for regular item, will need about 3-4 days to delivery.
3.quantity per single prescription
Thirdly, it’s depending on the quantity you need for each prescription, like if you just need few pairs prescription to start, and this item the lens factory doesn’t have it in stock, it will certainly to need longer finish time.
It’s very difficult and expensive to organize a new production for few pairs prescription, usually lens manufacturer have to wait others order until new same items order from others client
(For bulk order, it usually requires 10 pairs each prescription to start the individual production to maintain the quality and finish time.)
4.production schedule &peak season backlog
Lastly, if the order quantity is big and the lens factory need to organize a new production, the finish time will be affected by the order which is lining up in the schedule of lens factory.
Lenses factories are always have to schedule it base on the mould and order situation. Especially in every January, before Chinese New Year holiday, orders are all lining up and have to wait until previous order finished.
